Biography

I’ve been sporty since a very young age, competing to a high level in numerous sports including squash, football and hockey to name a few. I first caught the triathlon bug when my Dad was persuaded by Matt to sign up for one, and I was also very eager to have a go. I entered a local sprint triathlon as soon as I could at the age of 16, and completed it on a borrowed bike that was too big, mountain bike pedals with my trainers, and wearing a swimming costume with shorts and tshirt (ouch!).

Even with this not being my best race ever, I loved it and went out to buy a trisuit so I could enter more. Since then I have completed many different sprint and Olympic distance races along with a few duathlons.

Despite a few injuries and being on the other side of the world, long distance coaching from Matt at TCUK allowed me to complete my first Ironman 70.3 race in Auckland in January 2015, and somehow I managed to come 3rd in my age group! Having thoroughly enjoyed the training program and the race (kind of) I continued to train and have now completed a few more 70.3 races and am looking towards stepping up to an Ironman in the next couple of years.Outside of triathlon I am a full time pilot for British Airways, and so quite often have to complete my sessions at different locations across Europe in various time zones. With this and having my fair share of injuries on my triathlon journey so far, I really wouldn’t have completed the 70.3 races without the support and flexibility that a programme and coach from TCUK can provide.

Having seen how helpful and supportive a TCUK coach/program can be, I’m very excited to join the team and help other athletes achieve their goals.
