Jon Overment
International Triathlon Coaching Association (ITCA) Coach, ASA/UKCC Level 2 Swim Coach, ASA/UKCC Level 1 Teaching Swimming (People with Disabilities)
I got into triathlon in 2006 competing in a local sprint race. From that first race I've competed regularly in the UK and Europe in sprint, standard, 70.3 and full iron distance races, including the iconic Challenge Roth in 2012. In 2014 I was lucky enough to race in awesome surroundings and heat of Abu Dhabi.
Having had a background in county swimming and living by the sea when I was younger, it’s no surprise that the swim is the discipline I look forward to most. Realising I thoroughly nbsp;enjoy competing in triathlons and helping other athletes with their swim performance, I decided to move into coaching in a more formal way and in 2010 I obtained my swim coaching qualification. Since then I’ve worked with a number of triathletes and swimmers to improve their techniques. The natural progression was to combine my coaching experiences with my passion and interest in the sport and gain the triathlon coaching qualification.
Outside of triathlon I have a career in financial services that includes travel and commuting so I’m acutely aware of the need to balance home, work and training. I have seen my own performances increase year-on-year through consistent training and structured coaching. Following a tailored programme will help you towards hitting your optimum level of performance and personal goals on race day.
