Lanza 2020 training camp dates announced!
18th November 2019 - 14:13 ">
Bring on some sunshine! Time to book your place on one of our Lanza training camps in March 2020...
With many athletes already planning races for 2019, we are pleased to confirm the dates and costs of our Spring training camps in Lanzarote.
For the fifth year running, we will be situated at Sands Beach Hotel in Costa Tequise. The facility is an ideal base for training, eating and relaxing.
Athletes will have the choice of sharing a villa with one other or paying extra for a single supplement. The villas are spacious and clean and overlook the competition swimming pool.
We have two camps scheduled:
Thursday 5-12th March 2020
Thursday 12-19th March 2020
The first camp is made up mostly of returning athletes from last year but we do have a couple of remaining places for that week. The second camp is now open for TCUK athletes to book their places. If you have a friend who would like to book on please contact Matt to discuss.
Both 7-day training camps include:
Two TCUK coaches
7 nights accommodation
Full-board status
Daily (and often twice daily!) swim sessions
Swim video analysis
Sea swims
6 x group rides split into appropriate paces
Option to hire a bike if preferred
Off road and road runs - to suit the individual
Run technique coaching
Core & stretch sessions
S&C sessions
Cost:
£650 with a deposit of £250 payable to secure your place. Balances are required in January 2019.
Single occupancy also available at £795
Additional extras:
You will need to book a flight and, generally, the sooner you book the better the price is. We ask athletes to make every attempt to arrive into Arrecife airport between 12-1pm on the Thursday and between 1-3pm on the return leg. This way we can reduce transfer costs. If you can’t get flights in those time slots there will be a small additional charge for the transfer. It is more important to arrive 12-1pm on day one so that we can sort the bikes and start the training!
We often leave camp on the last night and go for a meal in Costa Teguise. This is not compulsory; you can of course stay in the hotel should you prefer. Any meals outside of Sands Beach are paid for by the athlete.
Bike hire: If you prefer to hire a bike then the costs are normally around 100-120 euros for the 7 days. The bikes are in very good condition and gears are slick from my experience over the years, however, where possible we would recommend taking your own bike as the camp will involve plenty of time in the saddle!
